We finally put a wrap on all the zigging and zagging in California this time around, and on June 21 we drove north to Lebanon, Oregon. You might remember we stopped here on the way down to the southwest when we left Washington in December. So basically, we’re back where we stayed our first night on the road. Our plans were to stay for 1-night then move on to eastern Oregon to stay for a week.

Our Final Zig and Zag in California

After leaving Lassen National Park, California on June 12, we zigged into McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park to see the falls. What’s unique about this waterfall is that it is fed by underground springs which create a skirting effect around the 129-foot drop. We could have easily driven past the park if it wasn't for a suggestion from our family in Rohnert Park.

Heading to the Sun

During our month in the Pacific Northwest we allowed ourselves some downtime, followed up on a few routine appointments, and enjoyed time with friends and family during our stay. The Pacific Northwest had been having a rather cold, rainy, and snowy fall/winter, even by PNW standards, so we were more than ready to find some sunshine after a few weeks but we stayed the month then found the road calling once again.
