Annual ABQ Grecian Festival held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church – just a walk away from our home. After seeing our first morning session over at the Balloon Fiesta, we stopped in at the Greek Orthodox Church to enjoy the food, traditional dance, and music. This made for a fun way to cap off our very long and very busy first day in ABQ. Opa!

The night before we left Whistler, BC a massive thunderstorm hit a good portion of the Pacific Northwest including Glacier National Park setting off a firestorm with smoke traveling for miles in all directions. What was supposed to be our first visit to this illustrious park became an unknown as we traveled across British Columbia staying in Kamloops on August 12 then Invermere.

A Monumental Experience

We left Boulder, Colorado on June 9th for a swing through the east side of Nebraska and up into the Black Hills of South Dakota. I hadn’t been in these areas previously, but for the last forty some years D has been intent on me seeing Mt. Rushmore National Monument. He seemed to think it was something everyone should see - having seen it on a family road trip when he was a teenager.
