Welcome to Nelson

Nelson sits perched on the side of a hill above the West Arm of Kootenay Lake in southeast British Columbia in the heart of the Selkirk mountains. After leaving Calgary, we stayed for a week just outside of the town of Nelson in a lovely Airbnb apartment. Our home sits above the garage of a beautiful, new, very modern home with phenomenal densely forested mountain and lake views. Looking out from our deck felt like we were high up in a tree house.

It's Canada, Eh

The first week of August we left Bozeman, Montana, behind. Our next destination - Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In order to break up the drive a bit we chose a slower scenic pace with many stops along the way. We spent the night in little Shelby, Montana after we drove all through the streets of Montana’s capitol, Helena, and had an early dinner in Great Falls. The following day we crossed the border into Canada through wide-open wheat fields and prairies as far as the eye could see running into the Canadian Rocky Mountains to the west.
